Don't convince yourself of something and if you stray from it just keep it tidy and together so its easy to come back to. The big problem to returning to a project is feeling the weight of returning to it. Just make it super easy to grab the last model and work on it for 10minutes and put it away when you're done. It's how I worked on my spider army.
