You can tweak a bit and cheat with scaling, but yeah it tend to fuck over animations.
Bone morphin also cause ton of issues. Annoying since its the only way to make slampigs.

There is too many shit to list, all those franchises were considered peak during era where most of games reused assets and engine, and No one complained.
Dunno why is a massive issue now.
