I wouldn't say image dumps or hornyposting is bad per se, a character's thread is a reflection of what the people that like that character want to talk about in relation to that character. If that means espousing their love for her thread after thread by talking about how they want to lick her feet, then that's what they want to talk about. Those threads are also pretty much always alive and well, so it's clear that there's a lot of fans of that character that enjoy talking about that stuff. I don't mind it. You can always leave an interesting SFW post or question in a thread like that and see if anyone wants to talk about it with you.
What I would say is that I'm glad that there's a thread or three where people talk about random stuff that you don't expect, or threads where people make interesting headcanons.

It is a matter of perspective, it all depends on what places you frequent, but I'd say the % of things you see in places a lot of people frequent has changed to be more positive. I haven't seen anything of the sort you say you see frequently for around a year or so, and I do think newer people in general have more positive opinions on all the characters.
