Err...I loved the old Bleach because of the Ichigo and Aizen story. A hyper intelligent psychopath taking a normal boy and using him as a Nephilim experiment for his own purposes and becoming each others counterparts in the end. Why didn't Kubo continue this storyline? Could've had an arc where Ichigo joins Aizen because of how messed up the cycle of life and death or b/c how evil soul society is or something. Was Kubo too fucking lazy to explore something like that? Instead he kept making new characters fighting another new random side character.
