The leader of the Yuuzhan Vong was the Supreme Overlord Shimra and he weilded a deadly amphistaff which was a biologically engineered serpent creature that was used as a melee weapon and it could even block lightsabers.
Shimra faced the Jedi Grandmaster Luke Skywalker in a duel in the final battle of the Yuuzhan Vong war. They fought with great ferocity and they moved so fast it looked like there twenty lightsabers and twenty amphistaffs. Shimra almost managed to kill Luke but then Luke finally defeated him while Jacen Solo faced down Shimra's court jester Onimi who could secretly use the Force (they thought that the Yuuzhan Vong were totally disconnected from the Force but Onimi was a Force sensitive).
Jacen destroyed Onimi in a powerful burst of pure Force energy.
