if you're really struggling with the Great War then you could try doing the Luna civil war first, its much easier and allows you to go to War Economy and remove all your debuffs years before Chrysallis invades so you can build up enough to just steamroll her as soon as the year starts
plus if you play your cards right you can end up with all of the Crystal Empire and Stalliongrad as Core territory for tons of extra factories and millions more ponypower

Alternatively, just make sure you have really good infantry divisions and air coverage. i normally do 40 width infantry with plenty of artillery and shitloads of CAS and using this, Chrysallis has never even made it to Vanhoover
