Keep It Simple Stupid would be my number 1 recommendation frankly, restrain yourself to a few colours and 1 Wash, keep edge highlighting to a minimum.
For the auxilia specifically pick out 1 colour for the undersuit, 1 colour for the armour, 1 colour for the pouches and boots and 1 colour for all the technical gubbins. Then apply a wash.
Be very reserved with Edge Highlights. I only bother Highlighting the faces/helmets when I go horde but even that is optional.
The sarge and command models all have crests on their helmets, pick two colours which complement each other and do an alternating pattern on the crests. I'll call these the "regalia" colours for later.
Vehicles like tanks are pretty easy in the Excertus Imperialis style. Just prime grey, paint the metallic parts and then add your "regalia" colours somewhere to tie the rest of the vehicle to your range. You could also prime the tank whatever colour you want instead of grey but again, KISS you're gonna be painting a lot of these.
