Xyz monsters did not have huge caveats

Pendulum Format only really accelerated the inherent problems of Xyz by providing an even more braindead R4 spam engine in the form of PePe. Pendulum summoning itself was a fucking joke outside of a relative handful of decks all of which only really made use of the recurrsion engine of pendulum and nothing else. The best decks for most of that era weren't even pendulums.
