Yeah it totally felt like she was just saying that so Susie doesn't think she had a crush on kris and maybe even a part of it was to try to shove those feelings she holds towards kris more down. I really wish chapter 5 gives us more information on their past together, the scene where YOU have to hide in Dess closet and it's filled with hearts kinda has me theorizing that maybe Asriel gave her those hearts in a romantic way so Kris tried to emulate his big brother in his own "special" way by ripping out his heart and chasing Noelle around the house butttt that's more of just a theory Dess could've just as easily gotten those hearts from her mom :P
