Since we're blogposting, I finally got through mentor in NG2. I'll probably bounce back to NGS (I just like it better, sue me) for a very hard clear now.
This was way more ballbusting than warrior by a large margin, at least right at the start when you don't have all your weapons/moves and are still getting used to it. After that it's pretty smooth sailing, nothing feels truly overwhelming apart from chapter 11 with those 3 rasetsus and explosive archers finally starting to crop up. It's also the most fun part of the game.
Tests of Valor were a pretty mixed bag, some were outrageous mostly in just how long they are and some were easy. I ended up just not finishing the one before you fight volf and I missed the one in ch. 11 since I didn't go down that cave before heading up to the dojo in ng1.
Favorite enemy: Vangelfs cuz they're weak as shit
Least favorite: multi-missile launcher soldiers
Favorite weapon to use: Kusarigama
Most used weapons out of necessity: Talons, maybe scythe in late game.
