It was like a sauna out there, you could barely breathe.

But on the bright side, I got to see the lightning bugs which always bring me cheer, and smell the summer wildflowers in the night steam. And of course, see the unavoidable fireworks because its a summer night in America on a day ending in Y.

Plus, I got my burger and fries. Time to be comfy cozy. Which is coincidentally the name of a stream I used to host.

I like to recount the time I was a late teen or early 20s and in a small grove by the forests near the house, there was one tree the lightning bugs would gather in. I guess they liked it for some reason, probably a mulberry tree.

Anyways they would gather there for some reason at night and the tree would light up like a Christmas tree, all by itself among the other trees. It was quite a sight.

But now I burger.

And try to find something to watch or listen to. Im still pissy about the goddam heat.
