I would like to start attending church services and events, as it's pretty much the only option for regular social interaction in my area. I have no intention of being disrespectful toward their beliefs, but I feel like I'd be taking advantage of them by using their services without really holding their beliefs. Is this a valid concern? Is it socially acceptable to utilize religious services in this way? I think my biggest fear is having to explain myself, I feel like "I'm just here for the community" isn't a very good excuse and I don't know how people will react to it.

so this was a totally different time, me and turk have found ourselves out late without a good camping spot. this has happened many times before and i fucking hate it. it is the shittiest least relaxing thing - looking for a camping spot in the dark. i have informed turk that i never again want this to happen. turk assures me that our mate, who i will call "posh", knows a good camping spot, we will meet up with posh, and he will show us a good camping spot, so no stress, it might be night but he has somewhere ideal for us in the woods. so ok, no big deal .......... we meet posh, we enter the woods, and we've been walking for a while, so i ask posh:
>"so where's this camping spot of yours then?"
posh responds:
>"i dunno i'm just walking"
...
you can imagine my face.
posh never told turk he had a camping spot, he just said he "might know some woods" ... turk extrapolated from this that posh had a perfect camping spot for us ....... so we were now, again, traipsing through the night, tired, looking for somewhere to pitch our tents in the dark, for the millionth time.
eventually we find a very ok spot even with a big log to sit on, we pitch our tents around it and sit on the log and make some food, then turk exclaims he is hurt somehow, i tell him it was just a thorn, there's some thorny bushes nearby, then again, turns out, there's a wasps nest in the log.
so his perfect spot was total bullshit and he lead us to a wasps nest to camp on.
