I unironically think the statistical revival of traditional religion among zoomers is at least partially, if not primarily, a way to signal to other zoomers that they haven't drunk that soup, so they can self-sort the troons out of friend groups or potential relationships, rather than purely a genuine revival of belief. Like, if you're attending a church with services in Latin or Greek with all the smells and bells, and find others your age at the same service who went out of their way to attend specifically that service, odds are good they share your social and probably political views.
