A lot of newfags who've grown in the social media clickbait engagement dystopia of today fundamentally don't understand how imageboards were built to function. Instead, they'll see thread X has gotten 400 replies, and so they proceed to copy it because that's what gets replies meaning it's clearly what they're "supposed to do". This is why there are seemingly the same threads repeating over and over and over again, creating a negative feedback loop of regurgitated shit that fills the catalog today.
