Ralsei was genuinely excited because he didn't know defeating the Knight there was something that could happen as Kris didn't leave it in the prophecy. When Kris throws the fight on purpose, Ralsei later commenting to him how he thought they were so close but he understands now it wasn't gonna cut it and there's still a ways forward is because he realizes Kris already tried several time loops of defeating the Knight there and concluded that results in a bad ending every time.
>This is also why Kris knew exactly what to say to throw Susie off in that one text. It's also why Kris doesn't seem to be bothered by Susie even while she's bullying him. And it's why Kris always knows where to find secret bullshit that no sane person would know to look for.
