Most of these PS2-Vita era otaku devs are in trouble
Compile Heart games are barely selling more than 1k in Japan anymore and peaking at fucking 22 players on Steam. (In comparison, in Jan 2015 Neptunia Rebirth 1 was the best selling game of Steam that month)
Falcom seems like they're on an alright path, but Trails is falling off in Japan, people are ready for it to end and who knows what they'll come up with to replace it.
Aquaplus would have shut down after Monochrome Mobius if some conglomerate hadn't swooped in and bought them
Gacha did a number on this whole subgenre
