There's definitely a halfway point where it looks exponentially dumber than when it's more receded.

Jude Law wasn't seen in public without a hat of some sort for the entire time it took to shoot this movie. He wore a beanie on The Graham Norton Show while doing press tour stuff for the second Sherlock Holmes movie with RDJ and said it was because of a heinous haircut he had to have for a movie but people doubted him. He hid the haircut so well that the gossip rags and hairlets online started speculating that he'd gotten a hair transplant and was hiding it until it had healed, until the movie finally came out.

That qualifies it as true kino hair, to me.
