The solution to the puzzles isn't about figuring out where the pieces can go, it's figuring out where they CAN'T. For this one, focus on solving column 9 first.
Step by step detailed spoilers, but try yourself first:
1. Column 9. You know each crystal HAS to share an area with a cat & bomb. Because column 10 is filled in, the spaces to the crystals immediate left need to stay open so they can stay connected. This leaves you 6 spots to put the 6 walls.
2. Column 8. Repeat step 1.
3. Column 7. 5 walls for 6 spaces. The answer is not obvious just yet, but you do know that you can continue the line of X's to continue each of the four areas. And because the two areas can't connect, you can at least put one wall down on Row 6. It also means you can now solve...
4. Row 7. You are left with 4 gaps for those 4 walls in this row, and you can fill them all in now.
5. Column 7. Now that Row 7 is solved, you know the gap here needs to be in Row 8, and can fill the wall on the other rows. This also solves Row 1.
6. Column 6. Continue the X's to continue the area, and fill out the remaining gaps. Row 2 can now be solved.
7. Column 5. The X's for the bottom three areas continue, and two more walls can be fitted in. The 5th wall isn't obvious just yet, but you can now complete another row
8. Row 5 is now solved. Because of this row, you can now see which of the Column 5 is the wall to keep the second area going.
9. Row 10. So that X continues again, leaving 1 gap to the wall
10. Row 9. We need to connect the bottom chain to it's cat, which solves this row
11. Column 4. Connect the second line to the cat, and put a wall between area 1 & 2. An X in the remaining spot
12. At this point, just finish walling up the areas, and fill the remaining gaps
