>Civilians will never know the TRAUMA that comes with a grenade being tossed (grilled cheese being ordered) right into their trenches (the kitchen 2 hours from closing) every FUCKING day.

If the characters on /tv/ ever get uppity just remind them that every time you turn off the screen it effectively erases their existence from reality until you turn it back on later. Who is to say if they're really the same after that? Here's looking at you, cast of The Bear. I don't care how frustrated you are because of the narratives on-screen, you're still not allowed to call me a slur when I put you on pause.

>my second rotation back into sizzler
>i hardly ever talk about it. there was five of us. one kid, he must've been like nineteen. his name was nick. i tell you man when those steamtrays of fettuccine had to be replaced about six times in one night..
>on that same night we also ran out of sour cream, total shit show
>let's just say at the end of that night he was no longer a kid. you could just see it in his eyes you know, he changed

*hits cigarette

>to be honest we all changed. but we could handle it, we'd been in the shit before
>when we made it back home we all promised to stay in touch
>i later heard that nick hanged himself in his garage. he couldn't adjust back to the civilian life after all he witnessed
>but i understand now..
>he didn't die at home in his garage
>he died that night at sizzler

Laugh all you want but if you'd ever had the experience of a civilian walking in and ordering a grilled cheese when we're about to close in 45 minutes, you'd understand that the PTSD the average chef experiences is far greater than that of your most shell-shocked combat veteran. At least they can dodge the grenades, we have to jump on every one tossed our way.
