ukraines stated objective was to seize the Kursk nuclear power plant (Kursk NPP) to use it as 'nuclear blackmail' against Russia during "negotiations"
the idea was, ukraine would seize the plant, then demand Russia give everything back to the 1991 borders, immediately leave their territory, to extradite Putin and "Putins regime" to the hague, then 'demilitarize' and balkanize Russia
(this isnt a 'joke' either)

the plant would be destroyed, spreading radioactive contamination on Russian soil (Russia would be blamed anyway)
