when I was in my undergrad I was taking a required sociology class to fulfill a core requirement. it was an 8 am course and given that it was sociology it was complete bullshit so I skipped it frequently

one time I decided to skip a friday course and when i came back on monday the professor's assistant was handing back graded exams

I went up to front of the auditorium after class and told the professor I was arrested thursday night and released midday friday after seeing a judge. He said I could make up the exam if I provided proof so I spent literally like 5 hours finding an example of the counties discharge paperwork that had placeholders like john smith and shit and using microsoft word and paint edited it to make it look real. it still looked like absolute shit and would fall apart under any kind of scrutiny so I was scared when I went to his office during office hours seeing as how there were only 3 exams and they constituted 20% of your grade each. turns out he ended up sick that day and it was a TA subbing in for him that had no idea about our arrangement so just handed me the exam no question asked.

its not very interesting and is a textbook blogpost but it was a day that really solidified my belief that god exists and he watches out for me

If you don’t have friends or family, go join a church. The people in the church believe that IT’S THEIR JOB AS CHRISTIANS TO MAKE YOU PART OF THE COMMUNITY. They will go out of their way to fit you in. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have strong social skills. Just be honest and they WILL take you in and teach you. At least a good church will, so if you don’t find it at one, then keep trying until you find a good one. It’s God’s plan that you have a good mate and family and be supported by a strong community.
