Yeah the gameplay is better dude, the combat in just about any JRPG is miles ahead of the trash in western CRPGs. As far as content goes, since you're apparently brain dead, that would be stuff like side activities, side quests, and interactions with your party, all of which are done way better in JRPGs than CRPGs since they're actually interwoven into the story and not the random half assed garbage they are in CRPGs. Can you name a single good side quest in a CRPG in the last ten years?

As for the writing I think the JRPGs are much better than CRPGs, they actually explore themes and characterization far better, Partitios story in Octopath Traveler 2 alone is better than anything I've seen in CRPGs over the last 10-15 years.

The only people who defend western CRPGs writing at this point are guys who think CRPGs mean stuff that was made well over a decade ago, or even two decades, when they actually had some semblance of decent writing like PS:T or VtMB, but western CRPGs haven't had anything on that level in a long, long time.

Are you really going to try and tell me garbage like the Larian or Owlcat games are well written? And if not them, what western CRPGs can you even name that are written well that aren't near drinking age?
