Origin stories are fine. Superman's origin in particular is just boring and doesn't tell us anything about him as a person. Bruce Wayne and Peter Parker are old enough to be involved characters in their origin. Kal-El is a baby who doesn't have any agency or characterization. Does he mourn the death of his parents and homeworld? No, he's a baby. Is Krypton or his parents ever going to come back into the story? No, they're dead. What's the point in retelling someone that's only relevance is a plot device that everyone is already aware of?
