it feels like we just left the dudebro gamer era. The timeline of video games is ridiculously truncated.

Why did it crash and burn so quickly? We don't even have an E3 anymore. It was once the best way to preview new games to the consumer. Now nobody knows what's coming out anymore.
Was it the pivot to general nerd culture that doomed G4 and other spaces? Electric Playground isn't on the air anymore in Canada and we put ANYTHING on TV.

Aka the core millenial years of dominating culture:
>David Guetta
>G4/Gamer/Dudebro fake culture
>EDM "party all day!!!" sound injected into everything
>Stomp clap hey civil war cosplay "indie"
>Clothes that have "SWAG" "YOLO" in big letters across them
>Every poser wannabe wearing an ILoveBoobies wristband
>The drastic YoungMoney fall off era of Lil Wayne and beginning of Drake
>Kids stop going outside and having any interests in anything altogether, in favor of sitting their house being overweight playing COD talking shit on Live drinking mountain dew
>End of fresh creative era of YouTube and social media and beginning of strategic monetization of these platforms and people turning them into careers
>Empty soulless Kpop starts influencing rollout and production of art worldwide
>Beginning of every movie becoming adhd slop rehashing and mixing superheros into any combination that can be thought up
My wife was reminding me of the time we first met at an off campus party, sometime in the winter before Christmas of '08. The party was hosted by a black guy and his sister who had a television set up with a wrestling PPV on in the background, it was the night Jeff Hardy won the WWE title. The only other black people at the party were skateboarders who wore skinny jeans and listened to MGMT.
We realized then talking about it that it's like our early 20s took place on another planet where race relations had been solved. Do any other millenals have trouble understanding where exactly things went so wrong, so quickly?
