>So the ARMAD seems to performed the best, and is the stuff HK uses
Correct.
>Hodge uses
No lmafo
Hodge is very careful with their wording
>Utilizing FN’s proprietary steel and technology
Wow sounds cool
You know what else uses the proprietary steel and technology?
A FN branded CHF CL
> same proprietary highgrade Chrome Moly Venadium steel used in FN’s venerable machinegun barrels

Wtf bro hodge barrel for $399??? Big if true!
Scam company desu.
>other than being cheaper to produce (allegedly).
It is cheaper at an industrial factory setting. Setup costs vastly more expensive and its much more expensive to change barrels around.

Id rather see you get into a final year 3rd gen tacoma if you insist youre going to be a wrenchlet. Roll remaining money into base lining it, decent bumper, tires and improved brakes.

Sometimes during shock you can trigger the tube to shut off and its fixed with a restart of the unit itself. Can happen if your near a lot of overpressure from explosives/shotguns ime. In your case is it possible that you didnt have the cap fully threaded on and it was bouncing in there slightly during movement?
Generally a short will make itself more apparent when the unit is cold, wet or thrown around. Go throw it in your freezer and see if you can repeat the failure. If that doesnt work, id probably chock it up to batteries.
Freezer test will also tell you if you need a purge lmao
