Some weebs are assblasted about the game cause it's being used by shitposters to say that JRPGs suck and this is better than everything and beat the Japanese at their own game. They're also assblasted because the game is admittedly overrated by people that haven't played all that many JRPGs. This is not better than Dragon Quest VIII. It's not better than Nocturne. It's not better than Live A Live. It's not even better than Final Fantasy 7, the one everyone knows about.

The reason why this game is so good is because it pays proper reverence to all the best JRPGs and is a full on JRPG in everything but the artstyle, which is pure French SOVL instead. It stands on the shoulders of giants and makes no bones about it. In truth, this game is a love letter to JRPGs, which is why it's a shame that shitposters have turned some weebs against it.
