I'm starting to think we're dealing with a time loop.
>There's a prophecy that details everything with 100% accuracy, as if someone experienced it before
>Strong narrative emphasis on inescapable fate
>Gerson says the story has been retold many times but was never finished
>Susie saying she doesn't want an ending, things would be better if they went on forever
>Jevil asks who keeps spinning the world around
>Forgotten Man says you're forgotten him many times before

Anyone watched this video about the Forgotten Man?
https://youtu.be/xgExQ6e5Tm4
I watched it yesterday and have been thinking about the idea of the Forgotten Man being basically the "secret" side of Toby. Him literally talking to us about his ideas on games and the creation of art, rather than it being some sinister big lore secret to be revealed.
The context of things obviously do still tie into Kris themself. MANCOUNTRY is clearly something from Kris' childhood, and the Art Therapy may well be something Kris went through before, but the actual words and actions around the eggs being more abstract musings from Toby just feels weirdly right.
>The Annoying Dog is Toby's silly self insert
>Gaster is Toby's serious self insert
>The Forgotten Man is Toby's actual self insert, the man literally forgotten behind all these other characters
The way he shows up in the traffic jam and the diner also feels like it reinforces this. He's not something weird or eldritch, he's just a dude here that's normally overlooked, only remembered if we've gone and gotten the Easter Eggs he's leaving which aren't important, but not unimportant.

Anyone else feel like people are expecting way too much Gaster to actually be involved in the game?
I feel like if he is, it'll only be a small bit near the end. I don't think he like made Ralsei or anything like that.
Don't even think he did the Shadow Crystal stuff anymore. Seems more likely to me that Friend and Dess/The Knight set all that shit up as something to fuck over Gaster's whole game in their own way.
