you can look at the top redeemer times but it's kind of misleading because it doesn't factor player dedication/playerbase and some of the top options (like sword lann) are insanely and almost totally gear dependent, to the point where you almost can't play him without high end gear since it directly affects his gameplay

At the end of the day you really should just find a playstyle you like because you will have to play them a lot and you really have to love them to stay committed. Most of them you can't go wrong with and are pretty level but some stand outs I guess

devCAT's golden girl, low skill floor, (very) good damage, insane defensive ability (very important in this game), hammer is basically just sword but worse

They both have two solid weapons, teide (hurk) and cestus (karok) are really strong, greatsword (hurk) and pillar (karok) are not as DPS heavy but you trade that off for a bit less technicality and more unga bunga

this guy has practically broken the game since release, but genuinely why would you do this to yourself play a real merc you weirdo

My girl but just in a really bad place and has been for a while, gear dependent (probably the single most attack speed hungry character in the game) for no reward other than getting to play her. Debatably the "worst" merc in the game right now
