America has been trying to stage a "color revolution" in Russia for decades. Just like we did in Belarus and Kazakhstan in the months before the Ukraine War. And which we succeeded in doing in Ukraine, and to some extent in Georgia(and tried to do again just a few months ago). Not only have we been trying to undermine the Russian State, but we've been trying to further balkanize Russia for the last 30 years(see Chechnya).

Regardless, the reason the United States won the Cold War was the Sino-Soviet split. Russian and Chinese resources together are just too great. If they combine forces, America will be thrown off the Eurasian landmass, and return to being a regional power(see Monroe Doctrine). Europe has no resources. Neither does Japan, South Korea, or Taiwan. Which is why they all function as proxies/vassals and call America daddy.
