Counterpoint from a former Anila main, I think they've nerfed both 5U and 5UU with this change.
5U launched at 17f and was changed to 15f specifically (in my opinion) so it can be done gaplessly from a triple attack. Triple attack into 5U pushes the opponent forward a tremendous degree on both hit and block, and I've always judged that as the point of the move, so it becoming gapless buffed it in the sense of it stopping you from getting DP'd for doing it. The devs have undone their own previous buff with this patch, because the left hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing let alone what the right hand is doing when it comes to Anila's confusing, purposeless kit.
Meanwhile 5UU speeding up from 15f startup to 11f and becoming gapless from 5U makes NO sense to me whatsoever. 5U is safe but 5UU is punishable, the only reason to ever go into 5UU in a blockstring would be a low-reward, shitty frametrap. If it's gapless why would you ever, EVER use it outside combos?
