Who gives a shit? Snyder's tone was different. He elevated the source material beyond the comics, just like he did with Watchmen and 300.
Gunn doesn't even try to do that. He's just removing the parts he doesn't like (like the original crest), the spandex suit, and so on, and then makes a new Guardians movie about Superman while catering to the whims of critics.
