>>213067907That's okay, those are the only good Superman stories, period. Only three ways to make a Superman story with a compelling conflict:
>be a scared little cheesy bitch and have the villains use kryptonite (this leads to having to pull something silly out with lead and is so fucking played out).>Have his cover exposed and attack his loved ones (also played out but to a lesser extent)>Make him- not necessarily a villain -but an antagonist or at least misguided in his aims.Or, really, you can be Grant Morrison and just dismiss the idea of an external conflict entirely, but he pretty much did that as well as it can be done and the concept has no more narrative space to explore.
I enjoyed Snyderman because it did a good job of making me feel the conflict had real stakes and consequences (tell that to Zod's neck lmao, etc etc) and that Superman could reasonably lose. It certainly has its issues along with the rest of Snyder's run, though. Watched a solid camrip of Gunnman and it really is just Gunn slapping Superman II and Guardians together and calling it a day. Not great, not unserviceable, but certainly not worth the price of admission.
