The point was that he hated that in creating Nous, he had unintentionally put a limit on pursuing knowledge and pursuing knowledge now is just trying to please the Aeon INSTEAD of acquiring knowledge. He didn't want to become an Aeon, he just wanted to get the same euphoria of learning things without Nous spoiling shit for him

I like that he's whole motivation is that he basically feels like the pursue of knowledge isn't about knowledge anymore but pleasing an Aeon and he's kinda right in a way that they've basically limit themselves because of it
