This. Media companies have broken the unofficial agreement they had with viewers for so long that if you forces us to watch ads that generate revenue for you then that's where the money comes from and then the programming is free. I buy an antenna, I watch the games, I tolerate the ads because the ads are why they can give the product away for nothing
Then cable came along and now you have to pay a monthly fee, but there's also still commercials. Why? What is ESPN giving me that NBC and Fox weren't to justify me paying for what was free on those other networks? It's just double dipping. They took the deal and altered it. And now multiple subscriptions? That's just triple and quadruple dipping. The product is the exact same but it has 4 extra layers of cost on it now.
If you're paying for red zone with ads you're just a fucking sucker. If you pay for NFL network and the 2 shitty games it has for years you're a fucking sucker. The only way to win this game is not to play. There's a playoff game on a streaming service? Guess I aint watching it. That's exactly what happened last year. I normally watch every playoff game and last year I didn't. And it was fine. It was actually nice not to hear that fucking Burger King commercial 20 fucking times.
They're daring us to walk away. So walk away.
