Academy gave this poor dead bastard a posthumous apology Oscar because they feared giving Best Actor to "dick sucking Cowboy" would cost them middle-America.
That some poorly scripted Goyer-slop is so praised is endlessly amusing to me. The film is Nolan's masterstroke, mediocre genre rubbish that makes midwits feel they are watching cinema (or something adjacent). After this, Nolan could sell them anything.
