Yeah 2011s are great, the trigger is impressive and the good ones do legitimately shrink your groups to 1/2 of what they may otherwise be. The gun just does so much of the work for you. Plus, racking the high dollar ones feels like sliding wet glass on glass, it's unbelievable. That being said, with practice and a $900 CZ shadow 2 or even my $380 Arex with a couple $80 upgrades I shoot about as well as a nice 2011 that cost 5-10x as much. Not as well, but really fucking close. It's probably taken me about 5,000 rounds and an unknown ammount of hours with that arex to get my groups to that level, where the Atlas 2011 I shot my first two 7 yard 10 round groups were as good if not better than my best Arex groups. Up to you and your budget which path you choose. Humble marksman did an interesting video on a new sig 226 that talked about how he likes shooting his 2011s more and they FEEL better, but his groups and splits weren't really any better vs this $1,200 pistol. https://youtu.be/RnfpQhqk7IE?si=lc0g4z8zNDLi-OcV

Left is slow fire, right is fast fire with the Atlas Athena. I think the range rental guy told me all together it cost about $6,000 for this 2011 setup.

Because FN makes the only good option for people who want high capacity and a great trigger, and they know it. For some reason in 15 years nobody has managed to put out anything that competes with it. In contrast the 1911 and 2011 market is full of great options and that keeps the prices down.

I would keep the hk, tisas 2011s were just on sale for $499 like a month or two ago. They can still be had for $600ish, and I'm sure cheaper for a used one. You can just save up for a tisas 2011 and in the meantime wait for another sale. I am a tisas 1911 owner and enjoyer who likes 2011s so I get the drive towards wanting one, but the whole point of tisas is that it's a budget pistol. Fit it into your budget anon.

Actually I've heard the tisas is far far far more reliable with less QC hiccups, but that may just be because there are mkre prodigies out there at the moment.
