Alright price, but the Legion isn't that special. Save a few hundred and get an LE trade-in, have it cerakoted or better yet PVD coated and pick grips that appeal to you. Would cost the same or less and be custom to your liking.

Wilson Combat has some stuff, ignore their "action tune" as Ernest Langdon WORKED for Wilson Combat to develop that stuff, his LTT stuff is the evolution of it. Ernest Langdon also worked for Beretta USA for a long time (also shot for Team Beretta), working from a customer service phone agent to the head of law enforcement sales. Wilson has a nice rear sight (Wilson Battlesight) but apparently they had a competition shooter (Les Pep or whatever) design it and then never credited the guy for designing it.

LOK grips. VZ grips.

Volkers Precision has some stuff, same thing about their flat face trigger, I heard a rumor they stole the design from some guy.

Black Beard Customs has some stuff.

Jarvis obviously makes barrels and compensators

Barsto makes some very nice match barrels

1911 bros!

I'm probably going to take a friend who is a no-guns, but has shot guns before. He is a big fan of guns because of COD4+, so trying to figure out a good selection of guns to take shooting with him innawoods later this year. So far I'm thinking...

>Python
>1911
>USP 45 Tactical (w/ suppressor)
>Berretta M9A4 (w/ red dot and suppressor)
>M&P 22 Compact (w/ suppressor)

>SP5 (w/ suppressor)
>Benelli M4
>AR-15 (w/ suppressor)
>Tikka T3 (.308)
>SCAR 20S (w/ suppressor)

That's 10 guns, and a good selection I think for a COD fanboy. I wish I had a P90S but my bro might let me borrow his.

I kind of agree with this, because shooting a rifle suppressed winds up costing more as well. Usually subsonic ammo is more expensive than whatever normal cheap range ammo you would use, and suppressors don't last as long shooting full power rifle rounds as they do shooting full power pistol rounds. I still shoot rifles suppressed sometimes because it is a lot quieter though. Where those dumb electronic earmuffs are nowhere near enough for normal shooting since they only cut like 20-25db off, they are fine suppressed. I also keep one of my cans on my primary home defense rifle which has a few mags of subsonic rounds with it. because even though it's not perfect it will be a lot quieter if I have to use it indoors.

I love my tisas, they're all forged so they are actually better quality parts then springfields at 1/3 the price, but not necessarily assembled as well. Mine needed the extractor tuned to stop flinging brass into my face. Chipped my glasses with brass even. It was like a 5 min fix to tune the extractor, and the gun was $305 or something like that after shipping and ffl so worth the savings. If you get one and it's unreliable, try tuning the extractor or getting different mags.

Keep in mind 1911s are a 115 year old design, they stop being reliable unless you clean them regularly, where as most modern handguns can go 10k plus rounds without cleaning.

I love it, it's finish and action are way nicer than any other AK I've handled from arsenals, zastava, parts kits, PSAs, centuries, KUSA, tantals and galils. Ive shot literally everything except Polytechs, and my 2020 WBP has the slickest action and is gassed better than 90% of em except some parts kits. Yes. Too high pressure to fit in a pocket gun, too much recoil for people seeking low recoil, and never offered in a high capacity duty pistol.

It flopped on every market it could compete with. Chasing 9mm performance in a smaller cartridge was a fool’s errand
Anonymous No.64221498
>>64221454
Yes it was another case of the gun industry looking at what the "modern consumer," AKA reddit, claims to want, and taking it at face value. 9fags claim that the prefer 9mm to 45 ACP because of magazine capacity, so Federal designed a new cartridge with almost the same power as 9mm, but smaller so more could fit in a magazine. Turns out 9fags actually like 9mm primarily because it's cheap, so a newer, more expensive 9mm was always doomed to fail.

All 2011 (true 2011 pattern, not that Jewish Bul-shit (lol) or Glock mag mental illness) will mate with any 1911 slide. Most if not all 2011 frames are ramped frames which usually are for 9mm, .40, 10mm but .45 ACP ramped barrels do exist. I used a ramped barrel in this build and it shocked me that it fed perfectly since I had terrible issues with a Dan Wesson ramped .45 in the past.

Therefore you can just buy a 9mm 2011 like an Apollo, Prodigy, or Tisas/Mac, and get a new slide and barrel that matches the frame’s ramp (para or Wilson).

Also the amount of work they actually do is way less than I did with mine. They basically do the sear, one section of the hammer and a part of the trigger bar. After seeing that I have no doubt in my mind that it's not worth it unless you're literally too retarded to read a guide and use a dremel.

A 16" with one of the top 5 (per shooter's ear) on pewscience should be tolerable without hearing protection for home defense. I use a Hux 556ti, shot without protection and my ears were fine (outdoors). You want to shoot your rifle suppressed at the range because you need to shoot and test your rifle in the configuration it will be used in. Not to mention in all cases it makes them more pleasant to you and bystanders. If your rifle is sub 14.5" it basically should have one at that point.

I'm going to assume you're talking about some form of subsonic rifle ammo that is meant to be subsonic, ie not 5.56 because subsonic 5.56 is retarded. Also 300blk is just spicy .45acp so stop being a pussy and use a 16" 5.56 rifle.

ordered new glock sights because after 2 years of them, i still dont like my accuracy with the XS big dots and ordered a set of basic set of all black ameriglos. theyre getting delivered tomorrow so i decided to take the sights off to clean the channel out tonight, when i realized the front screw was stripped; alright, no problem, i deal with this daily on machines, so plan b: i center punch it and drill it out, shouldnt be too hard, so i grab my tools, swing the hammer, and snapped the screw right off as soon as i punched it.

that did solve my problem i guess, but proves the idiom right yet again, "guns have two enemies, rust and politicians"

Unless you mean the disliking the XS sights, in which case I'd say it's just not my preference and I gave them a very fair shot. I could be serviceably accurate, but the size of it just didn't let me aim as precisely, and I didn't feel I was appreciably faster shooting them. they were also tarnished enough that I couldn't differentiate between the outer ring and inner dot on the front sight, and the rear sights trit insert was indistinguishable unless I charged it with a flashlight

Trying to get a real colt SAA is gonna be insanely expensive.. most clones are pretty decent.. if you look up cowboy action shooting forums you will find more in depth discussion of this than you will ever care to read….

Caliber wise it comes down to how much historical accuracy you want.. 45lc or 44-40 are both very historically accurate, but also expensive.. you can find β€œgun accurate” knockoffs in 38-357 which is a lot easier and cheaper to buy but not really what they had in the old west… but if you just want to feel cowboy ish and go bang then they’re a fantastic option.. if you get a little farther away from the true SAA clone option you can find things like the ruger blackhawks that come with conversion cylinders so the 45lc model can also shoot 45 acp, and the 357/38 can do 9mm…. That said the action in the Blackhawk is its own thing… mostly this comes down to the number of β€œclicks” it makes when you cock the hammer.. the true colt SAA did 4 distinct clicks and if you want to cowboy larp your heart out that’s what you want to look for.. they’re often literally referred to as 4 click SAA replicas…. So really I guess the best question would be what kind of fun do you want? Then look from there…
Anonymous No.64225796

Also if they have the firing pin on the hammer they’re probably not drop safe. Generally if they have a transfer bar then they’re drop safe.

I'm looking for a quality single action revolver I guess. If the transfer bar doesn't make the trigger worse that sounds nice. I don't know much about revolvers and their calibers, what's .45LC like ballistically? If it's inferior to .357/.44 I might as well get a Ruger Blackhawk then?
Anonymous No.64225963 >>64226156

45lc was originally a black powder load, so on the low power end you have cowboy loads that are very light. That’s probably more of what you’d want to stick to in a true SAA or SAA clone. In a Blackhawk or more modern SAA adjacent revolver you can use much more powerful +p loads scraping up towards 44 mag performance…. Those will probably damage a historically accurate SAA clone eventually.. I will say I have a 357 Blackhawk and it’s fun as hell. Also you can fan it if you want to screw around with that… not all SAA clones will hold up to that if you do it a lot (holding the trigger down and using your offhand palm to repeatedly cock and release the trigger for rapid ish fire…. As shown in literally any cowboy movie your likely to encounter). Purists will tell you that the transfer bar mechanism makes for a worse trigger… however if you’ve never fired a single action revolver before and have mostly just shot semiauto pistols then I suspect it’ll be a lot better than what your used to regardless…. In my experience even a β€œrough” SAA trigger is lighter and much crisper than most semi auto handguns…. Hard to go wrong with a Blackhawk, and honestly it’ll likely outlive you…. Personally I think if it’s the only SAA style gun you have I’d go 45LC with 45acp conversion cylinder Blackhawk > 38/357 with 9mm conversion Blackhawk > either of those without the conversion cylinder….

Personally if your not trying for a colt copy then I’d say either of those are worth the money, and worth the premium for the conversion cylinder as well..

any semi automatic handgun requires a degree of competency to not "limp wrist", if you do not have the stance/technique the gun moves too much after it fires and cycles and jams. it's the #1 jam of guns like Glocks which are normally extremely reliable.

A revolver does not need that level of competency, it will go bang as long as the cylinder can revolve.

But, realistically, it's the wonder nine, and army adopted M9 pistol, that ensures their popularity going into 21 century stuff. Shilled by serious government lobbyists.

It's been around since the mid 70s, it's been a handgun for various militaries around the world, most notably for the US Armed Forces
It's been featured in a fuckton of movies too
It's been used by several police departments, too, most notably the LAPD, further adding to the Hollywood connection.
This thing has been shilled longer than I have been alive

You aren't listening.

Nobody has ever "shilled" Beretta in /hg/.

The 92 has been popular on /k/ since before the first /hg/ and long before that. There was a period of a few years from perhaps 2008 to 2015 where skeleton twink kneesock tranny noguns faggots called the 92 big. That's the only thing negative you could ever say /k/ thought about the 92.

I mean, I want a 10mm P220, a 9mm P226 or P229 (just one) and one or two P365 xmacros. No P320s. Plus my dad is holding a P228 I'm going to buy from him.

They're cool, but I'd only get one if I can buy an original Swiss with papers. Unless I win the lottery I don't forsee buying one.

Despite shooting them well I think they are awkward and bulky in the hand and get a pass that other awkward bulky guns like glocks do not.

40s hit harder than a 9. You'll be fine. Might need to check if you flinch. You can see that by when you pull the trigger and you dont fire and your gun clicks down. But I love shooting my g22.
