Because Beyond vastly improves upon mostly everything established in the original (except boss fights; they're both kinda shit in both games but at least the first game didn't give you OP weapons before most of them to make them utter cakewalks). It's much easier to stomach something that came before a much better game before you play the sequel than to go from the sequel to the first game, I believe.
Think that one MEGA link should still work if you wanna pirate the first game. If you can only buy one, just go for Beyond instead.
