Your weight on the scale can plateau like that, but you can still be losing fat. For various reasons your body weight can go up or down. If you retained water or increase the water you drink, the extra weight will show up on the scale, hiding some/all of your fat loss.

Technically it will make your weight go up as you'll retain a bit more water. But it can help you lose fat by improving cardio and lifting performance, burning more calories and gaining more muscle. I noticed I could do a couple extra reps when lifting and better endurance on the exercise bike.
