not a NEET but definitely a hikki who literally looks like this >>11316132 and basically finished my bachelor's in CS and math from home, only crossing the road for literal 7/11 runs for monster and coke zero, and occasionally going to uni for exams, reinterring society has been very fucking hell.
i applied and got into the best uni in my country for my masters, meaning i actually have to go to class and keep up with the course material, otherwise i'm fucked. meaning, i have to ride trains and busses, navigate the crowded campus, sit for 2-3h in full auditoriums, deal with group projects (since i literally don't talk to anyone, either i end up alone with an insurmountable workload, or i end up with the tisms that also cant talk, which is arguably worse).... it's horrifying waking up everyday knowing that's what ahead of me.
not to mention my health is shit and has been declining (one of the reasons that i became a hikki in the 1st place).
NEET or hikki... re-entering society once the "fun", fetishized on the internet part looses the appeal is hell.
sometimes i regret not an hero.
