I'm not really against (you)pandering, if done well it can honestly be satisfying. But either your character has to earn it in some way or the other characters eventually grow closer to you over time.
I simply don't like when they go all in right at the start, it simply feels way too forced and takes me out of it. And to be honest i don't expect gacha stories to be all that great but it simply has to be engaging enough and make me somewhat interested in the world setting so i can stay on the long term.
But that's just me, in wuwa i guess it's easier to ignore with the skip button but if i skip everything i would honestly just end up quitting the game on the long term because i wouldn't care a bit about the setting or characters at that point.
