Ukraine is fighting a losing war which is very important to note. And the problem for Ukraine is that there's no realistic scenario where they can win, which will create huge problems later down the line.
Morale at the homefront is hugely important, getting bombed daily, press gangs snatching people off the streets only to be sent into the front with no prospect of doing something meaningful (ie. holding the line) is detrimental.
I'm pretty sure most of the Ukrainian soldiers are fighting now due to the terror and not because of love of their country.
Armies fight when they believe they have a chance to win. When it becomes abundantly clear to everyone in ukraine, that the ukrainian army cannot hold everything they've been asked to defend then the line will collapse.
