It's sharing an experience, similar enough to watching friends try something you've experienced. That type of entertainment is a good "stand-in" when your friends aren't into something you're stoked about. If their personality or dialogue is right up your alley it's easy to end up watching more of their content.

The Foundation, Zeno, and Laplace all failed to make any significant progress on the Storm because of their close-mindedness while Vertin and Team Timekeeper were able to achieve more and all of them combined by treating everyone as a unique person
