I watched the entirety of the anime during a series of plane rides, and Dio isn't even that special. He's got a good story with Jonathan, but from the perspective of everyone in Part 3, he's just a huge asshole with no redeeming qualities, yet everyone hypes him up like he's the ultimate bad guy. He isn't even that good at lying, fucking Speedwagon, a normal human with no powers, just immediately sees he's a lying piece of shit and tells everyone to just ignore everything he says.
