I suspect this kind of behavior is simply copy-and-paste from what they see men doing at the gym. The gym is a predominantly male space, so they think they should behave like men in order to fit in. Those were just a few examples, but every time I was absolutely disgusted and dumbfounded and gave no reaction. There's nothing I hate more than women acting like men. It's the most unattractive thing I can imagine.
