You probably don't need to hear it from me but almost every work is derivative in some way. Hell, some of the most beloved stories in the past decade have been, on the surface, amalgamations of random shit the creator liked.

The fact becomes even more obvious when you go and check out the stuff that inspired your favorite artists. The rabbit hole can be pretty deep but I've found that it eases my imposter syndrome quite a lot.

The fun part is that most people won't realize/give a shit if you're ripping things from other stories. Some of my most well received (and proudest) work is glorified fanfiction that nobody knew enough to call me out on.

I switched to Linux. All games work cause I don't play any comp multiplayer slop. The main reason not to switch would be if you're a huge CoD/Battlefield/Fortnite/League player. Otherwise it's smooth sailing.
