Idk, they can reboot the series and double down on the cyberpunk motif. They can keep Sho, Rosa, King Lion/Leo and maybe Joker with some changes, and add some crazy futuristic shit like fighting cyborgs, mutants, aliens and all other kinds of stuff. Also, imagine your characters taking cybernetic enhancements, mutant chemicals, or alien parasites as some kind of gimmick. Make it a tag-fighter too while we're at it. It would also be a nice contrast to Samurai Shodown.

If anything it would be better if they went up simultaneous. Both of them mega distended, pressed up against each other like a pair of rumbling boilers, trying their hardest to build up more power than the other until they simply cannot contain it any more.
