I thought the buckshot in BF6 was comically weak. You could potentially get a one-shot kill at a paltry 15 meters if it was perfectly centered on a stationary target's torso, sometimes, because spread has a bit of RNG.10 meters was more reliable but not guaranteed. In reality with modern 12ga buckshot (like Federal 00 Buck Flight Control) has a 3x5" group at 25 meters which is a 100% kill every time. At 50 meters you have nominally 5 of 9 pellets (55% damage) on the torso. At 75 meters you get about 3 of 9 pellets (33% damage). When shitty 11" 308 rifles (417 carbine) can reliably 4 tap someone at 400 meters in BF6, then my buckshot damn well better be a one-hit kill at 25 meters.
Sadly though ledditors have complained loudly as have (((esports gaymurs))) and they're nerfing buckshot beyond how weak it is. They damn well better not touch slugs at least, it is a skill weapon and it should be able to one-shot heads at 100 meter and 1 shot body at 50 meters.
Otherwise there is NO FUCKING POINT to having a shotgun in the first place. Every other gun can squeeze out 3-4 rounds before the shotgun can fire 2 and every other gun is typically 3-4 shot kill. There is literally NOTHING unbalanced about how it was in the beta beyond it being on the weak side with slower TTK in most scenarios.
