Claiming incest to be wrong based on a utilitarian standpoint inevitably leads to asking why we aren't already protecting future generations by wiping out genetic disorders that present far more risk than the relatively mild threat of first-generation sibling incest, which tops out at around 5% chance of any kind of defect happening, with a less than 1% chance of it being major.

That's the most extreme of cases, resulting from many generations of orchestrated incest. Did you also know that a lineage of dwarfism can have disastrous effects, topping out at around a potential 25% infant mortality rate? Yet no one gives the slightest shit.
It's also important to remember that incest itself doesn't magically cause defects. It raises the chances of pre-existing genes being expressed because of the genetic similarity. Eugenics programs would ironically make future incest safer.
