Scythe is ok on bots because of how fast you can kill troopers with ease, or pop devastator heads, but it eats shit immediately the moment a berserker squad shows up, which is arguably the only 'true' fuck you chaff enemy the bots have that isnt the insta-death incel shotgun dev.
Sickle is better suited for close-range engagements due to how its shots fly all over the place past 20 meters, and if you spend the whole ICE to reload faster and get back to shooting, there's really no reason to just not use any other ballistic weapon.

End of the day, its all flavor that you yourself pick for having fun. Caring about "meta" is for shitters.
